ABOUT HEARTstock:
Formerly known as Hippies for HEART, HEARTstock is the 2nd annual free music and arts festival celebrating people with special needs. Held at Charleston Pour House and benefiting HEART Artist Guild & Theatre Company for adults with special needs through a silent auction of donated pieces from the HEARTstock Vendors. This special community event brings music and art lovers of all abilities together for an early, kid-friendly celebration. Produced by HEART Artist Guild & Theatre Company for adults with special needs.

ABOUT HEART ARTIST GUILD & THEATRE COMPANY:
HEART Artist Guild & Theatre Company is a 501c3 non-profit and a creative and adventurous family of artists, performers, and nature lovers! We are a model for inclusive programs where nature and city adventure, arts, and theatre are used to connect adults (21+) with disabilities and their communities. HEART members (aka; HEARTists) create visual and performance art, go on nature & city explorations, and have great fun while making meaningful contributions to society.

A Heartfelt Look at Romeo & Juliet

HEART was invited by the City of Charleston Office of Cultural Affairs to perform at Piccolo Spoleto 2017. Marybeth Clark of Charleston Stage Company wrote, directed, and provided costumes for the 30-minute music and humor filled adaptation of Shakespeare's Romeo & Juliet called A Heartfelt Look at Romeo & Juliet. PURE Theatre and their Artistic Director, Sharon Graci hosted the performances and assisted Clark as mentor & director.

Both shows were sold out and had long waiting lists! We are so proud of our talented actors and our supportive community! After almost 3 years of creating visual and performance art at HEART, we see this event as a milestone for inclusion, recognition and respect for our talented artists and actors with special needs. We thank everyone involved in making this happen.

2nd Annual Big HEART Raffle

We had such an amazing experience last April with our 1st annual Big HEART Raffle fundraiser at Redux Contemporary Art Center that we are eager for round two at PURE Theatre!

• WHY: To support HEART Artist Guild & Theatre Company-- Charleston's only professional artist community of adults with disabilities and special needs.

Big HEART Raffle's music lineup features some of Charleston's best talent, including:

The Tricycles, featuring members of 54 Bicycles, Traveling Kine and Fiddling Marci Shore

Lindsay Holler and the Western Polaroids, featuring Bill Carson, Kevin Hamilton, Sam Sfirri and Stuart White.

The heARTists will preview their Piccolo Spoleto production coming up in late May and sing a song from the play. A Heartfelt Look at Romeo & Juliet is written and directed by Marybeth Clark of Charleston Stage Company & Sharon Graci of PURE Theatre. This A-team is sure to wake the big heart in all of us!

Attendees can also expect a cool venue, loving people, delicious food by Rutledge Cab Co, tasty beer by Founders Brewing Co, wine, and creatively curated raffle packages that are sure to knock your socks off!
