“I taught art in Ohio for 35 years. I moved to NC in 2023 and started taking oil painting lessons.I have been accepted to shows in Ohio and NC. I paint still lives and landscapes based on places I have visited.
I love to paint the low country of SC.”

“I love art, I love music... so combining the two are a favorite of mine. These illustrations are a journey through scribbles, designs and abstract was that culminated in into what reminds me of a quilt.”
TY DAVIS
For me, creating art is about the process of experimenting, discovering, and being present in the moment. I simply love the act of making. I work on the floor of my studio, where I can connect directly with the canvas. Using dyes, inks, and water, I let the materials guide me, creating abstract pieces that feel alive and unplanned.
Bright colors are my language. They speak to energy, emotion, and possibility. My work often falls into the color field style, where it’s less about telling a story and more about inviting people to feel something.
Every piece I make is an exploration, a reflection of my connection to the materials and the moment. It’s about embracing the beauty in what unfolds naturally, and that’s what keeps me coming back to the canvas.

“My collage work is a celebration of sustainability and social history, created entirely from vintage books, magazines, wallpaper, and wrapping paper. Each piece is a carefully constructed reflection of our past, using materials that would otherwise end up in landfills. By repurposing discarded items, I aim to both preserve and transform them, giving new life to objects that carry a unique narrative. My collages become a visual dialogue, intertwining fragments of history, culture, and memory, while emphasizing the importance of sustainable practices in art. My love for mid century modern is reflected in most of my art, the colors and textures are truly unique and really can’t be reproduced or copied very well. Through this work, I hope to create pieces that not only tell a story but also encourage a greater appreciation for the materials we often overlook.”
Blakely Made
“My passion as a painter comes from a life-long desire to create. Growing up in Annapolis, Maryland, I was always out on the water, sailing or boating, all the while collecting shapes and colors to put in my pocket and bring home. I began painting in high school and continued to pursue art further down the coast at the College of Charleston. In 2013, I studied abroad in Florence, Italy at SACI, where I spent the semester focusing on finding my style. One of my professors, Lorenzo, expressed, “you do your best work when you just play.” This was really encouraging to me. Upon graduation, I was playing by painting in my off hours and trying to establish myself as an artist. In 2014, I officially started Blakely Made!
Currently, I live in downtown Charleston with my husband, Curtis, our son, Dean, and our golden retriever, Posie. When I’m not in the studio, we are often found enjoying Hampton Park or out on the boat exploring the marsh. Inspired by the local waters and my travels, I love to behold my surroundings and then depict them in my own way on a canvas. I am always mesmerized with the way my paintings can speak to others without using words. Some paint on a canvas creates a shared experience between you, the viewer, and me, the artist. This connection brings me such joy and compels me to paint the way I see the world: full of color in unlikely places.”
Andrea Langman
Andrea Langman is a local artist who has been living in the lowcountry for the last five years. After traveling to the Charleston area for over twenty years, she and her family jumped at the opportunity to become residents the first chance they got. The wonderful climate and beautiful landscape of the lowcountry is a huge draw to make the move. Andrea knew that Charleston would lend to a never ending supply of creative inspiration that would catapult her art to the next level.

“Majoring in Art at College of Charleston, I started painting shortly after I graduated. I want my art to be a challenge, to hopefully evolve for the better, and I think it is a privilege to be in my studio and to be a part of creating something that I love. I really do think my paintings very much reflect who I am and what I'm attracted to in my everyday life. I am attracted to joyful, thoughtful people. I love bright, vibrant colors and hope that the paintings that I create have a timelessness about them and are passed down to daughters and granddaughters.”
